Winter of 2015 at Portland State University I was attending an Advertising class. We were posed to create a media plan for the grand opening of a wine bar that was targeting millennials and existed on the exciting street of Alberta in Portland, OR. I had the idea of calling is a studio to avoid the stuffy associations that came along with the word tasting. The bar was owned by a hypothetical owner named Monique so i suggested StudioM and came up with this graphical support. My team ultimately didn't go with the idea but they liked the word studio.
